Sometimes they do so as you have stated in your examples but sometimes they bring back the attention back to the crowd . For example in the Randy Orton vs Wade Barrett match for WWE Championship , in which John Cena was acting as the referee , he brought everyone's attention to the match as every move of that match was a move for his career . Also in WM 27 in the useless Cole VS Jerry Lawler match Stone Cold's presence lighted up the entire event . So sometimes ( but not always ) the guest referees take away the attention of a match
